Kate Klimow, chief administrative officer and director of external relations at UCI Applied Innovation, has joined the Board of Regents as a staff advisor for a two-year term.

In this role, she will represent UC staff and ensure their voice and viewpoint is heard all the way to the top.

“Working on behalf of the staff at UC is an honor for me and one I take seriously,” said Klimow. “We have such wonderful talent across campuses and my primary efforts will be focused on collaboration and expanding development opportunities for UC staff across the board.”

President Janet Napolitano selected Klimow as part of a system-wide process, with applications solicited across the UC system. A selection committee composed of system-wide campus leaders and current and past staff advisors reviewed the applications and selected finalists for the president’s consideration.

“Kate’s broad range of experiences and deep commitment to the university make her an ideal candidate for the important role of Staff Advisor to the Regents,” President Napolitano said. “I know she will represent UC’s staff well, and ensure staff voices are heard.”
