For startups in Southern California, there are many options to incubate and accelerate their businesses, but unique to the startup community and UCI students are UCI Beall Applied Innovation’s newest event digs, and with them, the possibilities (and the size of those possibilities) are endless.

When walking through the doors at Applied Innovation’s new location of 5270 California Avenue in Irvine, the main event space, the Beach, comes into view.

The Beach is a purpose-built event space that can accommodate about 300 guests and features 180 degrees of seamless display technology. Event content can easily encapsulate the audience on the 132-foot-long Hiperwall screen and features other accommodations such as front podiums and center dais for presenting and panel discussions.

“The room and audio-visual lends itself to be more of an interactive experience than it just being a room for an event to take place,” said Michelle Hong, UCI Beall Applied Innovation events manager. “We’re living in a time where technology advances so quickly and I feel like we do a really great job here taking that and applying it to our events space to make the space feel more significant.”

The Beach features the latest audio/video technology, including wireless microphones, confidence monitors, recording and live event streaming, remote video conferencing, built-in overhead speakers and more.
From executive boardrooms, such as Paradise Cove to large-scale entrepreneurial event space, the Cove accommodates for startups, investors, entrepreneurs and the community to have those accidental collisions to develop meaningful working relationships.

Venture Cove, a state-of-the-art pitching, screening and presentation space, features a high-resolution wall-size screen and seating for up to 200 guests, combined. Venture Cove can be split into three separate rooms of varying size.
Adjacent to Venture Cove is the Longboard Lounge and the Tiki Bar, relaxed spaces for entertaining guests. Both spaces can be utilized in conjunction with the Beach and Venture Cove as a break area, networking space and to serve guests. Consider the Longboard Lounge as an area to showcase poster sessions, while the Tiki Bar – a fully designed entertainment space – is available as a casual reception area with indoor and outdoor seating, a wet bar and food prep area for catering services.
